Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 marks the fulfillment of a childhood dream — and a bold new chapter in his legendary career. After 12 hugely successful years at Mercedes, where he won six of his seven world championships, Hamilton said his decision to join Maranello was one of the most difficult he has made. For Ferrari, Hamilton brings unparalleled experience, a fierce competitive spirit, and a fresh energy. His relationship with team principal Frédéric Vasseur — dating back to their early days in junior formulae — played a key role in making the move happen. Hamilton sees this as more than just a change of color: it’s a new challenge. He’s motivated to help Ferrari chase a drivers’ title — something the team hasn’t achieved since 2007.

Chinese grand prix

Lewis Hamilton’s 2025 sprint win came at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai — it was his first-ever Sprint victory for Ferrari. He started from pole, kept the lead throughout the 19-lap sprint, and managed his tyres exceptionally well to dominate the race.  He crossed the line about 6.889 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri, with Max Verstappen finishing third. After the race, Hamilton described the win as “mega,” acknowledging that adapting to a new team is a steep climb — and praised the Ferrari engineers and mechanics for helping him feel comfortable so quickly.
